There are plenty of different lotions and potions offered to maintain your hair and skin these days it is difficult to select the right one. For a visit into your local drugstore, you’ll be greeted by row after row of shelves packed with various products, all promising to be effective wonders that will create miracles. I do think the one way to find out which items are best for you is usually to experiment and attempt for yourself. Among my favourites that I’ve been using for a time now is argan oil.

Sometimes called ‘liquid gold’, it’s a natural product, taken from the kernels with the argan tree which can be indigenous to Morocco. It is usually used as a moisturiser as well as in products to tend hair. Simply because the reality that the oil carries a high nutrient content and is also rich in essential fatty acids, anti-oxidants and vitamin E which is vital for healthy hair and skin. It is usually renowned for making hair soft, silky and glossy and help make wild hair more manageable. Other reported important things about argan oil for hair are the promotion of healthful hair growth, prevention of scalp dryness and itching along with the restoration of dry and damaged hair. Like a non-greasy, easily absorbed oil it’s used as a skin moisturiser that may benefit dermititis specifically. Additionally it is known for it’s anti-ageing properties and many advocates of argan oil have stated the actual way it assists their skin complaints like acne and eczema. Personally i have tried argan aceite to help treat dermititis on my small joints plus it did wonders for me and left my skin beautifully soft and smooth without irritation.

As a consequence of it’s beneficial properties, celebrities including Julia roberts, Charlize Theron, Kylie Minogue, Madonna and Taylor Swift are typical users of argan oil to aid take care of their head of hair and skin. It’s even starting out show up in mascara formulas because it’s claimed it can help to produce your lashes longer plus more lustrous. My locks are very dry and possesses a wiry texture (it almost seems like fine fishing line) and the oil in it’s pure form can help to add moisture and softness to my hair. Even if you are lucky enough to get have naturally soft hair, argan oil is a nice finishing touch to include extra gloss and shine.

Although finding shampoos, conditioners, hairdressing products and skincare products containing argan oil is not hard, as a result of oil’s rarity they are presented with a relatively high price. Because i mentioned earlier on, the oil is extracted from the argan tree which is seen in southern Morocco. The standard technique of extracting the oil was to collect argan fruit, dry it, extract the nuts, crack these to reveal the kernels after which to crush these phones release their oil. The procedure was completed by hand and took fifteen hours of labour and 32 kilograms of fruit to generate one litre of oil! Nowadays the kernels are mechanically cold pressed (heat damages the oil’s chemical properties). The tree is rare, extracting the oil is labour intensive… to ensure the high price. However, fortunately somewhat oil goes quite a distance.

The scarcity from the argan tree is where the challenge lies. There are so many products available on the market now that incorporate argan oil or are marketed as ‘argan oil’ or ‘Moroccan oil’. But if you check out the label, you’ll find often other ingredients (like silicon) in larger quantities compared to actual argan oil. Cosmetic companies need to give your very best in order that the production of argan oil is sustainable and also an exceptional, untainted by other oils or substances.

So how do you know you will get genuine? If you are investing in a product containing argan oil – look at the ingredients. Check for ‘argania spinosa kernel oil’, it must be up high the ingredients list and ideally, the item should contain as few ingredients as is possible. The harder ingredients that the oil is combined with, the less powerful the oil is going to be. If you’re buying pure argan oil, help it become in a dark coloured bottle since the light passing through a clear bottle can break down the oil’s chemical properties. Some products that are marketed as argan oil also include a carrier oil including olive or sunflower oil. Be alert to the purchase price you are paying. Argan oil doesn’t need to cost a bomb but simultaneously, it’s a rare oil that’s labour intensive to generate and so isn’t usually sold in a ‘giveaway’ price. The top argan oil product simply the most expensive but don’t forget the old saying, ‘you get everything you pay for’.
