Favorite NY Comic Greg Kritikos turns Misery into Movie Magic in CHARLIE BOY

Spend 60 seconds or so with Greg Kritikos and you will probably see why this Nyc comic headliner has audiences flocking to him and great buzz surrounding his starring role in CHARLIE BOY, a brand new comedy movie by Timothy Hines.

Greg Kritikos was always usually a beloved comedic superstar. This gritty, street-wise, reformed gangster has been in comparison with Jackie Gleason for his heart and appeal. He’s frequently sought after to headline The big apple City’s biggest and many legendary comedy clubs, including Gotham, Carolines and Dangerfield’s. And now he could be the starring role within the feature comedy CHARLIE BOY, which Kritikos co-wrote with Frederick Stroppel and that also features Kelly Le Brock as Donna and Burt Young as Luca.

CHARLIE BOY, based loosely on Greg Kritikos’ true to life, follows the storyplot of straight and sober recovering mobster Charlie Borakos. Charlie now functions as a standup comedian and, after many years of recovery and providing to his beloved community of Astoria, Queens Ny, he could be still burdened by the guilt of his son’s death and friend’s maiming on account of his drinking, drugging and negligence of the past. While buddy Tommy G’s gambling problem surfaces on the extreme and his awesome prior mob boss Big Angie moves back to town, Charlie’s benevolent and save-the-day attitude and knack for doing all the guy can to help you others and switch misfortune into laughter, saves your day and catapults Charlie one stage further of enlightenment.

Charlie Boy director Timothy Hines says, “It was Greg and Frederick’s script that drove me to create Charlie Boy. We’ve worked on this business for years i have never read a real perfectly balanced and honest comedy. I had to make this movie. And with Greg, what I can let you know, he is a walking dynamo and every inch an accessible humanist.”

“When I met Greg Kritikos I immediately saw this modern-day Jackie Gleason slash James Cagney man which has a soul-spilling heart, who forced me to be laugh my face with one-liners and improvising,” comments producer Susan Goforth that’s producing CHARLIE BOY together with Kritikos. “Kritikos joined with Frederick Stroppel’s comedic writing, the leadership of director Timothy Hines and executive producer Dominick Martini and a heaven-sent cast and crew, and i also knew CHARLIE BOY would come out a victor.
