AUCTION AND ART FAIR ORGANIZED SIMULTANEOUSLY Around town

The Poly Macau Art Auction is being held again until today with the Regency Art Hotel. The kinds include Chinese and Asian Contemporary and modern Art, Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art along with Jewels and Prestige Collections.


Masterpieces of Chinese modern art maestros will probably be displayed to represent the key developments of Chinese contemporary art history, including Wu Guangzhong’s “Snowscape in Beijing”, which is estimated for sale at HKD14 million up to HKD28 million.

Other things such as Chinese ceramics and art pieces, including those through the Ming and Qing Dynasties, bronzes, lacquers, Buddhism figures, and fine stationery will probably be up for auction.

A Cloisonne-Enamel Ram Vessel, Zun, estimated being worth between HKD3.Two million to HKD4.5 million can be available for purchase by interested collectors.
This can be the second Poly Macau Art Auction, following first auction organized recording.

Sabrina Ho, director of Poly Macau and Stanley ho daughter and Angela Leong, declared that the wedding is co-organized by Poly Macau and Chiu Yeng Culture. “I hope which a group of cultural events [organized by the two companies] brings to Macau new aspects that will permit to remain the diversification of the economy,” said Ho, who also expects that artists and art collectors worldwide is constantly support Macau as a possible art platform.

“We is constantly bring Macau more diversified cultural activities, and [will support] Macau to construct itself as a global art platform,” said Ho and “hopefully that Macau can be a well- known art capital later on.”

Regency Hotel opened in 1983 and has experienced past business closures. Ho, however, wishes to switch it into an art hotel. “In Macau, there can be many resplendent big hotels, however the variety of hotels which can be utilized for art or even some creational events is, actually, less than great,” said Ho.

At present, Regency Hotel just isn’t running any casinos, which, in accordance with Ho, results in a different atmosphere compared to other hotels. She also thinks that guests staying in this hotel tend to be “private.”

The “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair” will probably be held with the Regency Hotel until November 27. As many as 60 exhibition halls will probably be arranged to produce art pieces from 60 artists born after 1975.

Ho claims that just several hotels are willing to provide teenagers rooms and also to invite teenagers to design the rooms on their behalf.
