SA-3 cylinder shape burrs are perfect for interior contour work and deburring. Due to extreme hardness on this tungsten carbide, you can use it on a lot more demanding jobs than HSS (High-Speed Steel).
Double cut or Cross cut carbide burrs are usually used on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, soft steel, as well as for all non-metal materials for example stone, plastics, wood, and ceramic. Double cut burrs leaves a rather smoother finish than single cut due to producing smaller chips while they cut away the material. Use for medium stock removal, deburring, finishing, and cleaning. A double-cut carbide burr is among the most popular cut and definately will view you through most applications.
Machines Applied to:
Die Grinders and hand-held pneumatic grinders
Application:
Ferrous Materials – Surefire, Steel, Stainless, Steel, Titanium, Nickel, Wrought Iron
Non-Ferrous Materials – Copper
Other Materials – Fiberglass, Plastic, Hard Rubber, Wood, Stone
Cylinder Shape burrs are good for interior contour work like peripheral and face milling.
Safety Tips & Techniques:
Tool speed is decided through the material you are using your burr on. If you are experiencing chipping, you are most probably operating at too much of speed for your application. Start using a slower speed and increase as you go along unless you reach the the best results
Apply light pressure and allow tool do the work. Bearing documented on the tool will lead to reduced tool life as well as a dull burr.
Always wear proper PPE to incorporate (and not limited by) safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, and hand protection. Keep all guards in place on your machine.
Avoid experience electric power drills; the slower speeds may lead to chipping of one’s workpiece.
