Did you ever hear the expression “it is what it is”? Precisely what does that expression mean exactly?
Before I understood the deeper meaning of this expression, I envisioned an emaciated yogi guru inside the lotus position floating higher than the ground imperiously imparting wisdom that will take scholars multiple lifetimes to interpret. Seeing as how that is my last life on this planet as well as the lotus position would put me in traction, I knew that consulting the Course In Miracles would help me clarify its meaning.
Exactly what is the IT that we’re currently talking about here? In line with the Course in Miracles, It’s truth, specifically God’s truth. Why is it vital that you emphasize that it is God’s truth? Because God’s the fact is not ready to accept interpretations whereas a human’s simple truth is. Multiple versions of human truth have result in a many religions. The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia defines religion being a “system of thought, feeling, and action that is shared by the group which provides the members a physical object of devotion.”
Who devised it of thought? On whose feelings are these thoughts based? Are actions really necessary? Based on the Course In Miracles, God just is and our ultimate goal is usually to return to an ideal condition of being. There is absolutely no thought or action inside the condition of being, you only are. What mustn’t be forgotten will be the underlying thread of all religions: God is creator, God is love and we are all perfect and infinite children of God.
Put one other way, “it is exactly what it is” can be rewritten to “God’s love could be the only truth in fact it is absolute” and this truth knows no bounds and is also timeless.
