The alternative energy sector in India continues to grow rapidly and presents an opportunity for strong financial returns. Mytrah Energy Limited shows up london and is one of several largest sustainable energy producers in India today. Were thrilled to present this paper, developed in partnership with PwC India, which is the Indian renewables sector and highlights many of the differences between it as well as the, perhaps higher quality, markets in Europe.

Having built a 560 MW operating portfolio throughout the last 5yrs, Mytrah is benefitting from many of the key differences highlighted in this paper:
1. India is brief of power, and thus, new renewable capacity produces electricity for an undersupplied market.
2. Renewable capacity is faster to promote than alternatives such as coal-fired power.
3. Renewable electricity costs are similar to that relating to electricity business sources.

As opposed to Europe, where renewables have generally displaced existing generation capacity and required heavy subsidies, India gains advantage from truly market-led alternative energy demand, without significant subsidy. Strong support in the Government asia reinforces industry fundamentals, making a dynamic market which can be rapidly expanding. India already has 35 GW of renewable energy capacity and offers to grow this 500% on the next six years.

What he perfectly located at the sector was surprising. India’s wind energy potential is about 80,000 MW; 15,000 MW is definitely set up on the bottom. But there is not a single large IPP [independent power producer] in the commercial. “Countries like Spain have several listed wind entities, in India it is all-around nil. Match it up to about 20 listed thermal companies. Along with the next Decade, wind being an industry include similar to 50,000 MW. That’s a mainstream number,” says Kailas.

As we see it, India is easily the most exciting power market on earth, specifically renewables. With 400 MW in construction today along with a pipeline exceeding 3,500 MW, we at Mytrah Energy Limited is constantly play a serious role from the increase of renewable capacity. Hopefully that you will find this paper becoming a useful and informative resource and are pleased to participate in further discussion.
