Xbox One Controller Preview

I was first shocked by the Nintendo’s introduction with the Wiimote. Stunned by Sony’s Eyetoy and played some really competitive matches on Kinect Sports. Though what the core gamers want is just your standard controller. Unfortunately we cannot need motion controls to try out games; we demand that we have something in our hand with thumbsticks and triggers. There isn’t any Major League Gaming tournaments for Wii Sports, right?

Seeing that I’m at E3 I needed to get my hands on a controller from the next-gen of consoles. The 1st I acquired to try out with will be the Xbox One’s. Microsoft hasn’t had a perfect history with controllers- anyone remember fondly the Duke controller from the original Xbox? Luckily, this controller is a lot more Xbox 360 then your Duke. The very first thing you’ll notice is that it looks a bit bit greater than a 360 controller. It’s only an illusion; however it felt much more comfortable and snug during my hands compared to previous one ever did.

It is important i think that they absolutely needed to enhance was the D-Pad. The directional pad on the Xbox 360 console was unresponsive, clunky and simply in pretty bad shape. About the Xbox One’s version, it’s sleek (inside a great way), fast and it is really a delightful click when you apply pressure for the pad. I’m curious to determine how well a fighting game will have with this new controller.

Cod and Halo include the Xbox’s best selling games; they’re both shooters so you constantly need to take both analog sticks. So was there a means to help the already great analog sticks in the 360? It sure seems like they did. The analog sticks felt sensational looking sturdy and have also been quite accurate. Dare I have faith that video gaming gets more detailed the accurate sense of a mouse on a computer?

Another issue I needed together with the Xbox 360 system gamepad may be the Xbox Guide button. It’s based in the top middle portion of the controller and you will accidentally hit it. Microsoft thought we would help it become flat (and therefore harder to push unintentionally) and place it at the very top of the controller. This is a smart position for the button and I can’t locate a lot of people hitting it during gameplay.

Combined with other various upgrades produced from the Xbox 360 system controller, the triggers got love also, with rumble combined with each. This sounds absurd but when you are trying it by yourself, you’ll begin to wonder why we was lacking this before. After i was playing Forza 5, I had been power sliding into a sharp turn and you could feel the tires squeal throughout the pavement through the trigger rumbles. It turned out subtle and included with the immersive feeling.

There are just a few things I had created complaints about, most notably the left and right bumpers. They seem to own caused them to be considerably bigger even though playing Crimson Dragon they did not exactly happy when i tried to barrel reveal of the way of projectiles. This could even be a problem with the action however the buttons themselves were just okay. This can be no means an important issue and i am sure it’s going to just take a little while getting used to.
