Saturday’s “To Do” list depends on Head to Yard sales!
Planning my route the evening before, testing my gps on my phone and circling the garage sale listings from the paper really are a Friday night ritual.
Town I live in is really a “Planned Community”. So that it is pre-planned and strategically laid out. It is separated into Sections every section is presented by a letter. The “P” section includes streets beginning with the letter P: Perkins, Parking, Parkins, Penny. You get the idea! In storage unit auctions near me , there are lots of retirees and young professionals. The W section is the rich and ritzy section of town Then the B section is older but yet, more shabby. The R section is loaded with young families with children. The S Section is south of town and considered inside the boondocks just because the lots are larger and it feels more country. And finally, the C Section is when the canals, intracoastal, boats, boats plus much more boaters live. Each section possesses his own characteristics and community. Despite the fact that we all have been section of the larger town, these “sections” develop over town to draw in a certain ambience. The area with a lot of children have 2 elementary schools and sidewalks throughout. The “Country” section of town does not have any street lights and is over beaten track from your most town. But, the location as a whole has foibles and laws that we all try and abide.
Were allowed Two currently have each year. We are necessary to buy a $5 permit for each and every of those sales and our signage is grabbed and destroyed by noon on Saturday mornings. It’s not a conducive atmosphere for the Yard sale Business out of your home!
Many people have ignored each of the rules, communicated using neighbors with regards to their needs and plans and actually create a fairly good living donning the yard sale event monthly! When they get caught disobeying the guidelines, they feign innocence towards the rules and promise never to do it again! But, 2-3 weeks later when important things have calmed back off, there’ll suddenly be another yard sale! A lot of people in the neighborhood could care less and life proceeds!
For the Wednesday prior to the Friday/Saturday Yard sale rush, all of the all sales happens within our local shopping guide, The Pennysaver. People list their address, date and time of sale along with a few “hook” things that will attract the throngs of super sale seekers. I faithfully pour within the Pennysaver dividing the sale addresses into town’s sections and plot my Saturday journey!
I leave for the sales until around 11am since the majority of of those sales end by 1 or 2pm. Therefore, when I buy towards the sale, the people will be ready to sell the last of their stuff for just about any price you offer them. Ever since i am NEVER looking for anything in particular… just real deals, I have already been able to purchase (without negotiation) entire rooms of furniture, enormous collections of old china and enough fabric to sew clothes for the under-developed nation! And i also purchased it for around $5!!! I’ve got a weekly budget of approximately $20 for garage sales in support of once or twice have I ever gone over that quantity!!!
So, just for this weekend, We are plotting out about 10 sales inside a 10 mile selection of my home. I am going to leave at 11 am and be back by 3pm and I know….The rear seat from the car will likely be LOADED!!!!
