1. A: Hawthorne effect. The name originates from studies of workers with a factory called Hawthorne Works in the early section of the last century. The analysis learned that when workers know they’re being monitored during an experiment, the outcomes in the experiment are generally different than those achieved by workers getting involved in the same experiment who are unaware actually being monitored. Sometimes the gap is positive, and sometimes the gap is negative, but when workers know they’re being observed during an experiment, the final results tend to be skewed, this also should be looked at.
