The Poly Macau Art Auction is being held again until today at the Regency Art Hotel. The categories include Chinese and Asian Contemporary and modern Art, Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Chinese Ceramics and Artwork along with Jewels and Prestige Collections.
Masterpieces of Chinese modern art maestros is going to be displayed to represent the main developments of Chinese contemporary art history, including Wu Guangzhong’s “Snowscape in Beijing”, which is estimated for sale at HKD14 million as much as HKD28 million.
Other pursuits for example Chinese ceramics and artworks, including those through the Ming and Qing Dynasties, bronzes, lacquers, Buddhism figures, and fine stationery is going to be up for auction.
A Cloisonne-Enamel Ram Vessel, Zun, estimated being worth between HKD3.Two million to HKD4.5 million can also be available for purchase by interested collectors.
This can be the second Poly Macau Art Auction, following first auction organized a few months ago.
Sabrina Ho, director of Poly Macau and Sabrina ho chiu yeng and Angela Leong, declared the big event is co-organized by Poly Macau and Chiu Yeng Culture. “I hope that the number of cultural events [organized by the two companies] will bring to Macau new aspects that will enable to keep the diversification in the economy,” said Ho, who also expects that artists and art collectors worldwide continually support Macau as a possible art platform.
“We continually bring Macau more diversified cultural activities, and [will support] Macau to develop itself as being a global art platform,” said Ho and “hopefully that Macau can be a well- known art capital down the road.”
Regency Hotel opened in 1983 and it has suffered with past business closures. Ho, however, hopes to switch it into a form of art hotel. “In Macau, there may be many resplendent big hotels, though the quantity of hotels which are utilized for art or even some creational events is, actually, not too great,” said Ho.
Presently, Regency Hotel just isn’t running any casinos, which, in accordance with Ho, creates a different atmosphere in comparison with other hotels. She also thinks that guests keeping this hotel tend to be more “private.”
The “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair” is going to be held at the Regency Hotel until November 27. As many as 60 exhibition halls is going to be arranged to display artworks from 60 artists born after 1975.
Ho claims that only a few hotels are prepared to provide young adults rooms and invite young adults to development the rooms for the kids.
